In that sense, the brand’s visual communication needed to reflect a friendly and encouraging spirit rather than a formal or authoritarian tone. A Jack Russell terrier was chosen as the brand symbol, representing, on one hand, the habit of pets nudging their owners to get active, and on the other, the breed’s strong and distinctive visual appeal. https://lnkd.in/gaTWkZFn

Nested nature of agents as decision making entities. "We often think about the ways in which individual agents — whether they are people, groups, or a combination of objects and people — interact with their environments. But it’s important to remember that these environments are also agents embedded within even larger systems — and that these systems, in turn, are part of even wider context systems. This nested structure of agents within wider agents can be observed at many different levels, from the cellular and organic to the social or cultural. “Rocks are matter, but nothing matters to rocks.” — Stuart Kauffman, A World Beyond Physics I appreciate how the author found a simple phrase to illustrate two mindsets. One mindset is of the machine-like causal relationships between system elements that are often implied in physics and extended to social and economic dynamics. The other is the idea of living, self-creating, autopoietic agents that must continuously care for not only their resources and the value they create for themselves, but also for the contextual environment that enables those agents to exist in the first place.
