There are exciting construction updates at Harlin! We’ve begun excavation and anchor installation for the retaining wall. This phase will continue over the next couple of months, followed by densification and concrete pouring. Harlin is currently our tallest tower entering the neighbourhood, adjacent to our future community centre. #RiverDistrictVancouver #HarlinByWesgroup

A very helpful, albeit late decision from the Provincial Government. Architects are scrambling to adjust plans to the 2024 code changes, and now we likely have to go back to previous plans on some projects. Either way the financial viability of new housing projects remains precarious. More certainty and less politics is needed. https://lnkd.in/g5MJvfiF

THE PRODUCTIVE CITY – How can we keep our cities welcoming to production, manufacturing and creative industry? If we want to sustain a dynamic economy, we need our urban environments to be not only livable but also vibrant hubs of diverse industries. As part of an ongoing series of conversations and projects, we hosted a 2-day event (May 28-29) to exchange experiences between Canada and the Netherlands. We had the pleasure of having Sander van Schijndel from the Netherlands visit us. He shared insights from his work at OMU (Utrecht Development Agency), and how the Utrecht Region returns obsolete industrial sites and commercial buildings to productive use. Here in Vancouver, we got to visit and meet the people behind creative spaces of business and production at North Vancouver’s Shipyards and Brewery District, and Vancouver's Railtown, Ironworks, False Creek Flats and Mount Pleasant.
