  • The transition is no longer a question of 𝘪𝘧, but 𝘩𝘰𝘸. Respecting our international commitments is an imperative, and we couldn’t be more aligned with Minister Jean-Luc Crucke on that. Many forward-thinking companies are already seizing this shift as a strategic opportunity: reducing their dependency on energy and raw materials, building resilience, sparking innovation, and attracting the talent of tomorrow. That’s why we invited the Minister to join forces with business leaders, civil society, and policymakers. Because if there’s one thing we know for sure: cross-sector collaboration is not optional - it’s the engine behind collective action. Thank you BECI for inviting us to take part in this discussion. #WeMakeTheShift #speakup

• Last weekend, brave colleagues hit the ground running - literally! At the Ekiden relay marathon, we put our values into action: collaboration, courage, and a shared commitment to going the distance, together. Much like in our daily work, this race wasn’t about individual speed but about passing the baton, supporting one another, and embracing the collective effort needed to reach the finish line 🏁 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲. • 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗘𝗜: 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 Last Thursday, more than 60 professionals gathered for an inspiration session on how 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 enable resilient and competitive organisations. Isabella Lenarduzzi, founder and director of JUMP, set the scene on the strategic competitive advantage of DEI. She proposes a step-by-step approach starting with #leadership and subsequently involving the entire organisation to create an inclusive culture and systems. 🎙️ “Inclusion attracts and retains people, it leads to better decisions thanks to increased collective intelligence and it generates higher innovation revenue. Briefly, it makes good business sense.” This is what we took away from the three working groups: 👉 Measuring & setting DEI objectives by Christine Cecil from JUMP with a testimonial from Marta Pogorzelska from Accenture Belgium. 🎙️ “Be realistic in target setting based on a thorough analysis, be aware of blind spots – so listen to underrepresented groups - and give people access to your survey results and keep them engaged in the follow-up.” 👉 Psychological safety and inclusion practices by Lies Lambert from BlinkOut vzw and the Binario team koenraad van hee & Katleen Van Waeyenberge. 🎙️“Stress is a key factor, notice the signs of stress in yourself, address it with your colleagues and the psychological safety will increase.” 👉 Talent retention & attraction, moderated by Charlien Sysmans (Synkroon) and illustrated by Christel Ergo (she/her) from Pluxee Belgium. 🎙️ “Jobcrafting, jobcarving,.., what’s in a name? Finally, for an inclusive culture, it’s all about the mix of teamwork, effectiveness and wellbeing”. 💡 Eager to work with other professionals from other sectors and organisations and turn DEI into a strategic advantage? • 💭 What potential does #circularity hold to cutting #supplychain #emissions? Last Tuesday, we wrapped up the final round-table session of our 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽, where members explored how circularity can drive supply chain #decarbonisation. Over 5 sessions, we exchanged key #Scope3 challenges and opportunities — from collecting supplier data and engaging SMEs to incentivisation measures, AI-driven Scope 3 monitoring, and circular strategies. For this occasion, the following Scope 3 experts took the floor: 🔹 Bart Neyt from bpost presented their pilot projects on reusable packaging, aiming to develop a return system for empty, foldable packaging via the red mailbox. 🔹 Lien Dauwe from Fluvius explained how they are working on both recovering digital electricity meters and repurposing old transformers, ensuring valuable materials don’t go to waste. 🔹 Inge De Paepe from Delhaize Belgium introduced a larvae-powered food waste reduction project piloted with an innovative start-up. The result? Waste is reintroduced into the food chain—fertile soil for vegetables and feed for chickens. 💡 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁? If you're working to decarbonise your supply chain and want to exchange ideas and best practices with peers, we've got good news! 🚀 Join our 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 '𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻', launching this June. A unique opportunity to meet with 15 peers every other month and tackle Scope 3 challenges together. As one participant put it: "This community has made part of my job easier. Reaching out with a question now feels more natural, and these exchanges provide direct insights for our organisation." 🔗 Apply now: https://lnkd.in/eWDcczCF 🙏 Lots of gratitude to the companies who boldly signed up for first cohort of this Community of Practice: bpost Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Delhaize Belgium ISS A/S Proximus Group Schneider Electric and VELUX Co-organised by: The Shift vzw/asbl WWF-Belgium #WeMakeTheShift #TheClimateShift #partnershipsforthegoals

  • At The Shift, we connect businesses, experts, and policymakers to tackle the burning questions in sustainability. Today’s session on the 𝗢𝗺𝗻𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗲, the proposal as recently released by the European Commission, highlighted two key perspectives: on a European level by Sven Gentner (European Commission, DG FISMA), and on a Belgian level by Yenthe Peeters (Federal Advisor - Expert Sustainable Finance) 👇

  • 💡 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗦𝗚-𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁? Last week, The Shift vzw/asbl and Vlerick Business School explored this question during an insightful seminar. 💡 𝗞𝗲𝘆𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: Vlerick professor Xavier Baeten emphasized linking #ESG incentives to a company’s double materiality analysis for measurable, concrete results. He also highlighted how bonuses can drive ESG engagement internally. 👉 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Catherine Bals (Proximus Group) shared some key lessons:  ✔️ Set clear ESG targets tied to concrete projects  ✔️ Combine collective and personal KPIs  ✔️ Leverage available data for well-defined ESG criteria 🔧 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽𝘀: Participants exchanged ideas on impactful ESG compensation strategies—beyond financial incentives, such as celebrating milestones with employees. A useful session full of inspiration and actionable takeaways!  📫 Care to know more? Reach out to delphine.depotter@theshift.be. #WeMakeTheShift #TheClimateShift
