Here are 5 things I learned during my interview with Han Kleppe, founder of Leadinfo, at this week’s Pizza Night, hosted with 25Friday and re:cap: 1. Profitability beats funding VC can make sense in some cases, but Han never raised a single euro. Instead, he focused on cash flow and yearly contracts to fuel growth. While others chased investors, he chased customers. 2. Revenue is everything Forget fancy inbound motions, Han picked up the phone and called potential customers. Even better, he scraped competitor data and reached out before they even noticed. Bold + effective. 3. Build a moat with partnerships Instead of selling his software to agencies, Han gave Leadinfo away for free to them. The result? Agencies used it with their clients, locking out competitors and building the largest partner network in the Benelux region. 4. Selling your company is not a DIY project Han first tried selling Leadinfo solo. Then an M&A advisor convinced him to run a structured process instead of negotiating 1:1. He hired experts (Clearwater), created an auction and had a great exit to team.blue - a decision that turned out very well, as Leadinfo is still growing like crazy. 5. Hiring senior leaders early matters Han admits he waited too long to hire experienced leaders. In the early days, he tried to do everything himself. Looking back, he would have hired key roles (like Head of Product and Sales) much earlier to scale faster. For me, Han’s story is another example of not overthinking ‘the best strategy’, but have a relentless focus on execution and the ability to be faster than anyone else.
