We continued the evening over dinner at Fiera, where good food and great discussions went hand in hand. For three days, two of our consultants, Mark Gutschoven and Teun Vandermeulen, teamed up with our friends from Kapernikov and a student from Germany to tackle a major energy challenge at Elia’s Hackathon 2025. 🚀 The mission: 🔹 Predict transformer overloads based on historical data & weather forecasts 🔹 Develop a smart visualization tool for short- and long-term interventions 🔹 Integrate the model into Elia’s substation management system 🏆 The result? 2nd place! Whilst competing against top-tier data engineers and energy experts, the team's model was recognized as one of the best! Beyond the rankings, it was an amazing learning experience, during which the team could sharpen their skills in: ✅ Strategy management ✅ Energy market analysis ✅ Data-driven decision-making A huge thanks to Elia Group for organizing an incredible Hackathon & congratulations to the team for their hard work. Last Thursday, we gathered for TAG Day, a perfect mix of learning and teambuilding. 💡 Our junior consultants dove into the world of AI on the work floor, exploring how artificial intelligence is shaping the future of business. 💡 Our senior consultants sharpened their skills with a PMP (Project Management Professional) class, reinforcing best practices in project management. 👏 Thanks to Ruben Hamilius and Stijn Janssens for your valuable insights and enthusiasm. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐀𝐅𝐂 𝐋𝐞𝐮𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐕 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 🚀   How can businesses critically evaluate and compare technological solutions to find the best fit? During the AFC Leuven Consultancy Advanced Track this past Monday, students tackled this challenge by developing a Request for Proposal (RFP) and assessing competing solutions in the EV charging industry.   With guidance from our TAG consultants, they: 🔹 Gathered requirements 🔹 Defined selection criteria 🔹 Analyzed and presented solutions using spider charts   This hands-on experience sharpened their problem-solving, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills—essential for any future consultant.   A fantastic session full of critical thinking, teamwork, and fun —huge thanks to AFC leuven for hosting us! During this week, our consultants stepped away from their client projects to focus on internal consultancy, exploring new ideas with a real business impact. What started as a Bootcamp project has, in just a few months, matured into a fully integrated feature.
