About us
CEFTA - Framework for The Economy of The Future CEFTA 2006 as a framework aims at expanding regional trade in goods and services, creating an attractive environment for investment, and contributing to economic development and cooperation within the Parties. Laying down on the principles of WTO rules and procedures and harmonising its policies with the EU legislation, CEFTA 2006 provides an effective instrument for the Parties to accelerate not only the regional but also their european integration agenda. Since the establishing, CEFTA has been deepening the areas of cooperation based on the needs of the businesses and strengthening trading relations between the Parties. From achieving the full liberalisation of trade in goods and further liberalisation in trade in services, via reducing trade related costs, harmonising the policies within the Parties based on the EU legislation, to expediating trade between Parties through electronic exchange of information, CEFTA has proven as a framework that ensures transparent trade relations between the Parties that can enable the businesses to improve their capacities for different markets.

The SEED+ project, funded by the #EU, successfully organized a workshop dedicated to piloting the paperless exchange of veterinary certificates between North Macedonia and Montenegro. The event brought together the Food and Veterinary Agency of North Macedonia, the Directorate for Food Safety, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Affairs of Montenegro, the Ministry of Information Society and Administration of North Macedonia, and the Ministry of Public Administration of Montenegro. Participants engaged in focused discussions on the legal, technical, and organizational requirements for fully digital certification processes. 🔍 SEED+ Supports Training of Veterinary Inspectors in BiH Did you know that over 27,000 veterinary health certificates have been issued across the CEFTA through CEFTA TRACES NT since its operationalisation at the end of 2023? To support this progress, two hands-on training sessions were held in Banja Luka and Sarajevo, retraining over 70 inspectors from Bosnia and Herzegovina on the practical use of CEFTA TRACES NT in the issuance of veterinary health certificates, contributing to more efficient and harmonized trade in animal products across CEFTA. Organized in collaboration with the Veterinary Office and Chamber of Commerce of BiH, and supported by EU experts, the sessions reflect CEFTA’s ongoing commitment to aligning with #EU standards and strengthening CEFTA trade capacity. #CEFTAmatters
