Curium Pharma, a nuclear medicine company, has acquired Nucleis - Radiopharmaceuticals, a specialist in GMP manufacturing and distribution of PET radiopharmaceutical drugs. Founded in 2017 as a spin-off from the University of Liège, Nucleis has established itself as a key player in PET imaging radiopharmaceuticals. Nucleis manufactures and distributes F18 tracers in the Benelux region and offers CDMO services to third-party nuclear medicine players to produce innovative tracers. This acquisition marks an additional milestone in Curium’s strategic growth in the PET segment, reinforcing its commitment to nuclear medicine innovation and ensuring greater accessibility to cutting-edge PET diagnostics for patients across Europe. Belgium is scaling up its regulatory and clinical systems for #ATMPs, with the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAMHP) launching a dedicated spearhead domain to support ATMP development. The goal is to establish a robust and scalable framework by 2028. KiOmed Pharma is continuing to grow, having raised €18 million to support the commercial expansion of its osteoarthritis gel and to move forward with new developments in dermatology and ophthalmology. A spin-off of KitoZyme, KiOmed develops products using plant-based chitosan, a biodegradable material made from fungi. Its lead product, KiOmedine, has already helped treat 35,000 patients worldwide. “In rheumatology, we’re currently treating one patient every fifteen minutes.
