What an unforgettable celebration at the NAWIC QLD’s International Women’s Day Lunch at Brisbane City Hall! 💜✨ As we step into NAWIC’s 30th anniversary year, we were honoured to hear from our original founder, Paula Gerber, whose trailblazing journey paved the way for women in construction. A highlight of the event was the Past Presidents panel, where incredible women who #MarchedForward, shared their insights on shaping NAWIC QLD into what it is today. Huge thanks to Jennifer Gillett GAICD, Radmila Desic AM FAIB, and Janelle Kerrisk for their contributions! Another special moment was hearing Rupert McCall recite “A Hard Hatted Sequel,” a poem he wrote for NAWIC 30 years ago—an inspiring tribute to our journey. A big congratulations to Tanya Golitschenko, recipient of the AICD Scholarship, generously supported by Queensland Building and Construction Commission. And a heartfelt thank you to Hammond & Neale, our Event Sponsor, for championing women in construction. An extra special shoutout to our incredible guests who raised $4,800 through our raffle, supporting Friends with Dignity Ltd in their mission to assist those affected by domestic violence. Thank you to all who attended. This event was a true testament to the power of community, progress, and purpose. Now, let’s keep marching forward towards a gender-equal future! 🚶♀️🚶♂️🚶♀️🚶♂️ 📸 View the full gallery of professional photos on our NAWIC QLD Facebook page - https://loom.ly/6Xmgquw ! 📸

NAWIC QLD invites you to join us for an exclusive site tour of the magnificent New Performing Arts Venue project. The new venue will form the fifth performance space in the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) in Southbank, Brisbane, creating a new 1500-seat auditorium. The building’s crowning jewel is the iconic glass façade. Designed to mirror the Brisbane River's serpentine shape, the bespoke curved glass panels are an extraordinary visual experience and have taken the highest levels of innovation to design and construct. The project’s construction team is made up of a significant number of women with the façade package led by women. Lendlease is incredibly proud of their women in construction, and this project in particular showcases the exceptional talent, innovation and expertise of the team. Take a peek behind the curtain and see the façade up close, tour the auditorium with its spectacular timber interior and the electronic fly-tower technology, a first for QPAC. ✨Please join us afterwards for networking and an opportunity to mingle with fellow members. ✨Please note: BYO PPE required for this site tour; steel-capped boots, hi-vis vest, hard hat, gloves and safety glasses. Get your tickets here https://lnkd.in/g9c8e_sW #nawicqld #lendlease #queenslandperformingartscentre
