#ICYMI Senator Jacqui Lambie, who served in the army for more than decade, wasted no words when responding to comments made about women in combat roles. It comes after Benjamin Britton, who was dumped by the Liberal party as a candidate, said that to "fix" the military, women should be removed from combat roles. "I'll tell you what happens to boys like that, they get taken out the back and those females deal with him," Lambie told ABC Afternoon Briefing.

About us
Women's Agenda is a publication for career-minded, time-poor women who want to stay ahead of the conversation. Our team of coffee-loving, media junkies enjoy nothing more than waking up early to make your business day better. We determine the day's agenda before most people hit snooze on their smart phones, so you can get informed and productive. Our morning update features an edit of the day's key issues - a quick conversational scan to help you prepare for any elevator ride - as well as our latest views on making careers, work and business better for women. We're an independent publication first launched by Private Media in 2012 and acquired by its founding editor Angela Priestley in 2016. Our business survives off advertising, sponsors, and by helping organisations with content strategy and marketing, especially those looking to engage women. After publishing more than 1000 newsletters, 7000 stories and managing dozens of events, we intimately understand the needs and desires of career-minded, time-poor women. Indeed, we are such women ourselves! We're busy and sleep deprived but seriously passionate about what we do. We also all work flexibly, managing priorities ranging from kids, to travel, to writing books and building businesses. Get in touch with us at admin@womensagenda.com.au

Billionaires and tech bros have been making limited public comments on the tariffs, but are believed to have had much more to say when they headed to Mar-a-Lago recently to “talk common sense” to Trump on the issue. "Some of the richest and most powerful people on the planet will stay silent when human rights and democracy are attacked, but will speak up once their personal wealth and interests are threatened," writes Angela Priestley. https://lnkd.in/dX-_MUWK

Despite progress towards gender equality in Australian elections, women remain underrepresented among candidates vying for office on May 3. They are also overrepresented in “glass cliff” seats, which are the ones that are difficult to win and precarious to hold. Dr. Elise Stephenson GAICD shares more on the new analysis in this piece: https://lnkd.in/gXz8Hjy8 #Auspol

Women have watched gender equity get trotted out on the campaign trail like a side of salty fries – a quick bite between the meatish burgers of budget forecasts and yeasty buns of border talk, writes Madeleine Hanger (Grummet)🚀. There are mentions of diversity and “listening” and policies for “ordinary Australians” but what women actually need right now is extraordinary political leadership and more policy commitments that talk to them directly. #auspol #FederalElection https://lnkd.in/g_5UjWT5

A new Netflix show has sparked uncomfortable but necessary conversations about what it means to grow up in a world saturated with violence, misogyny, and digital harm. These are the forces shaping young people’s lives. Yet you wouldn’t know it by the current discourse from the 2025 federal election, writes Executive Director of the National Women's Safety Alliance, Katherine B. https://lnkd.in/gFmVEWpp
