Torbreck are pleased to announce the oficial opening of Hillside Vineyard, our newly restored vineyard estate in the southen Barossa Valley. With the heritage-listed 1860's winery buildings sensitively renovated into private event, tour, accommodation and tasting spaces, we are excited to begin offering a range of exclusive experiences for our Torbreck Wine Club members and invited guests. With such significant heritage considerations, we're thankful for the guidance and heritage tourism design by S2 Architects, as well as partnering with Structural Group Australia, Barossa Landscapes, Pete Thornton and Mister Lincoln Co Pty Ltd. Hillside Vineyard is a great addition to our Cellar Door Tourism offering here in the Barossa. The ongoing restoration of the property's vineyards, buildings and natural environment, including the original 1850's planted shiraz vineyards, has been a decade-long undertaking to preserve one of the most historically significant wine estates in the Barossa Valley. Torbreck's 2016 Hillside Vineyard Grenache was recently included in the London Wine Fair ‘Judgement of London’ Tasting - a tasting pitting Old World v New World wines, with 21 invited MW’s & MS’s as judges – a replay of the famous 1976 ‘Judgement of Paris’ Tasting. While the 'Old World' wines just won the day, we're proud to see Hillside Vineyard Grenache chosen as the benchmark of 'New World' Grenache for this prestigious tasting. For the first time, we are pleased to welcome a new wine, The Forebear, to join The Laird at the pinnacle of Torbreck's Barossa wine portfolio.
