  • Suncorp Chief Executive People, Legal and Corporate Services Belinda Speirs was invited to join The Australian Financial Review (AFR) Workplace Summit panel last week, to discuss the potential of AI to disrupt the workforce, in a ‘new era of work.’ The Summit gathered some of Australia’s top business leaders across industries, policymakers and thought leaders to explore issues of leadership, talent, diversity and the future of work. Ms Speirs spoke about Suncorp using AI as an enabler rather than disruptor – helping our people do their jobs more effectively while creating simpler, more customer-centric experiences, and used ex-TC Alfred as a real-life example of how AI can enhance operations across the customer journey. #AI #Insurance #Workforce #FutureofWork #Data #Upskill

Chief Executive People, Legal & Corporate Services - Suncorp Group

This week I joined Paul Smith at the AFR Workplace Summit alongside Jo-Anne Ruhl and Damian Kassabgi to discuss the workforce potential of AI. At Suncorp Group, we see AI as an enabler to deepen human connection, which is so important as we support communities through extreme weather events such as ex-TC Alfred. Our success so far of AI implementation has been driven by our people’s enthusiastic adoption and our enterprise-wide growth mindset. Such a fascinating discussion, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds when we marry an enabled workforce with the limitless potential of AI. #AFRWorkforcesummit #futureofwork #AI

  • Suncorp New Zealand Executive Manager of Business Property Nicholas Meister knows a thing or two about boating; he grew up sailing on Waitematā Harbour on Auckland’s beautiful North Shore. It was his connection to the maritime community that created the opportunity to join the insurance industry. But it was seeing the positive impact insurance can have on communities that ultimately steered him towards his role at Suncorp. “Seeing how insurance can rebuild communities was an ‘a-ha moment’ for me. Insurance became more than a job - it was both a career and purpose,” he said. • Building back better – today Suncorp announced a $500,000 community recovery package to help communities impacted by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.    Suncorp CEO Steve Johnston said providing funds to support long-term community-led recovery was crucial to build back stronger and safer: “We are proud to support two organisations working directly with impacted communities to aid in both recovery and rebuilding efforts, as well as immediate support for essentials supplies and services.”   Suncorp’s assessors and builders remain focused on progressing claims and carrying out repairs, and customer support teams remain on the ground in affected regions.   Read more about the recovery package: https://lnkd.in/gexw4d9M   FRRR (Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal) Australian Red Cross #Community #BuildBackBetter #Resilience #TCAlfred

  • Suncorp Group reposted this

Over the past week following ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred making landfall, the safety of the community, our customers and our people continue to be Suncorp’s top priority, as the insurer scaled up teams managing high claims volumes, emergency repairs, and on-the-ground customer support.   Our Customer Support Teams, set up in the Mobile Disaster Response Hubs, are currently deployed across multiple locations and will continue this into next week. Some of our customers visiting our Hubs are still without power.   Suncorp Chief Executive Consumer Insurance Lisa Harrison, Executive General Manager Home Claims Customers Alli Smith and Chief Risk Officer Bridget Messer met with our teams and customers at the Hub in Tweed Heads and spent time visiting impacted homes with assessors in the region.   Watch the video as they see the damage first-hand from ex-TC Alfred, including felled trees through customers' roofs and water inundation.   As we move into the recovery phase, Suncorp reminds customers to reach out online 24/7 for claims support, or visit our Hub locations: https://lnkd.in/gyJK-2JE   #ClaimsSupport #Community #HereToHelp #TCAlfred
