Fantastic announcement with our New Zealand collaborators FABRUM. and Ara Ake, to help get hydrogen-electric aircraft flying in Australasia. Onboard liquid hydrogen storage along with LH2 supply and fuel systems, are some of the critical enablers this collaboration and funding will focus on.
🚀 We're pretty excited about this project - advancing hydrogen-powered aviation! Stralis Aircraft (YC W23), FABRUM. and Ara Ake are working together to design, develop, and test liquid-hydrogen storage tanks and a fuel system for Stralis aircraft, paving the way for Australasia’s first liquid-hydrogen-powered flight and a step toward zero-emission aviation. 🛩️ Stralis Aircraft, who develop high-performance, low-operating-cost hydrogen-electric propulsion systems, will integrate Fabrum’s tanks and fuel system into its aircraft. Fabrum is a leader in zero-emission transition technology and will provide lightweight composite tanks and dispensing systems—key enablers for hydrogen-powered aviation. We're proud to support this initiative, based at Fabrum's hydrogen testing facility at Christchurch International Airport Limited. 👉🏽 Read more in the media release: https://lnkd.in/gew4P4PQ 📸: Bob Criner, CEO and Co-founder, Stralis, Stuart Johnstone, CTO and Co-founder, Stralis (middle), Mark Hoskins, CRO, Fabrum (right) 📸: Ara Ake CE Cristiano Marantes (middle) with Bob Criner and Stuart Johnstone in front of a Stralis aircraft.

An absolute pleasure for myself and Dr Mark Broadmeadow to attend and present at the ‘Symposium on Airworthiness of Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Systems for Civil Aircraft Propulsion’ hosted by Civil Aviation Safety Authority in Canberra this week (https://lnkd.in/ggcEy6c8). We had the opportunity to give an update on all the exciting work going on here at Stralis Aircraft (YC W23) – specifically, our progress towards first flight of our A36 Bonanza ‘Bonnie’ as part of our EATP project (https://lnkd.in/gu7amwq7), the development of our HTPEM fuel cell system through the IGP program (https://lnkd.in/gxMcwFHn), as well as discussing some of the regulatory challenges we’re facing as we continue to move the technology forward. It was exciting to see the progress being made by so many other Australian industry representatives too including, AMSL Aero, Dovetail Electric Aviation, Adriano Di Pietro at Swinburne University of Technology AIR Hub, Dries Verstraete at University of Sydney, as well as further afield with the amazing research being done at Cranfield University from Bobby Sethi. Super encouraging also to see everyone’s openness and enthusiasm to work together as an industry, alongside regulators, and with the support of specialists like JVAT in developing solutions that benefit us all. A big thank you to CASA, and specifically David Peterson and his team, for creating and hosting such successful event - we are very much looking forward to continuing the conversation with everyone involved! #EmissionFree #Hydrogen #Electric #Aircraft #Flight #Innovation #FutureMadeinAustralia

Super exciting news from one of our Hydrogen Flight Alliance partners FABRUM. who have produced their first LH2 in New Zealand and recently announced their LH2 test facility at Christchurch International Airport Limited. We look forward to utilising their liquid hydrogen supply and the facility in the not-too-distant future.
For the first time, FABRUM. has made liquid hydrogen in New Zealand! The milestone took place on the 26th of February during testing of our small-scale liquid hydrogen system at our recently established test facility at Christchurch International Airport Limited. The facility is now fully functioning and is testing Fabrum’s proprietary systems before they are dispatched to our customers worldwide. #liquidhydrogen #LH2 #LH2application #LH2production #LH2NZ Dr Ojas Mahapatra Christopher Boyle Hugh Reynolds Christopher Stoelhorst Andrew Hinkly Charlie Clark Jack Lang Ashley Brittenden John O'Callaghan, Neil Glasson Darren Marsh Barry Prince Nigel Bartlett Damion van Tromp Anna Pickett Mark Hoskins Claire Waghorn
