"What keeps you awake?" It can be a difficult question to answer honestly. For our staff quality engineer, Prabodh Kelkar, it's what sparked a journey that reshaped how we think about QA. In this very insightful piece, Prabodh details how the QA team at SiteMinder transformed from traditional Quality Assurance, to Quality Assistance, embedding quality into every phase of our development. By shifting from gatekeeping to collaboration, Prabodh's team has been empowered to take ownership of quality from the outset. It's a cultural change that's been driven by leadership support and a phased, non-disruptive rollout. The result? Faster delivery, reduced rework and a shared commitment to excellence. 📖 Read about Prabodh's Quality Assistance journey here: https://bit.ly/43PiTxd

The latest Easter in five years has caught the eye of travellers in 2025, with earlier planning, bigger budgets and more international stays all positive signs for hotels this year. The findings, based on reservations at the same properties across nine global markets, point to stronger international demand and a significant shift in travel behaviour compared to Easter 2024. Globally: - Properties can expect more bookings on average than last year, with Spain and Portugal leading the growth. - Two-thirds of destinations are recording higher average daily rates. - Travellers are booking earlier, with the average lead time increasing by nearly 10% to 96 days. - International travel is on the rise, with Italy and France seeing the largest jumps in international guests. - Despite the increased booking volumes, the average length of stay has declined slightly, with only Australia and Italy bucking the trend. These insights offer important context for hoteliers as they plan for the incredibly busy holiday period ahead. 📖 Read the full report: https://bit.ly/3YcGzb6

When your platform powers over 125 million hotel bookings a year, quality and security aren’t just nice-to-haves. They’re critical. Our quality assurance (QA) team understands this value, constantly evolving our approach to product testing to make sure we meet the highest standards always. Recently, our Manila-based quality engineers came together to explore the latest tools and frameworks in API testing, automation and quality assistance, with expert insights from amaysim and support from two of our Sydney-based leaders, Alex Kok and Prabodh Kelkar. It was another step forward in further strengthening our product and quality culture at SiteMinder, as we continue building world-class, innovative tech solutions trusted by more than 47,000 hotels everywhere.

It’s clear the first wave of agentic AI has already made its mark on hotel distribution, sparking questions about whether this signals the beginning of the end for third-party bookings. But history shows us that OTAs have consistently demonstrated innovation, often setting the pace in hotel tech advancements. So, is this the end? Experts say: not even close. In the latest edition of Revenue Management: A Deeper Conversation, we explore how AI is transforming distribution – and what it means for OTAs to share the playing field with their new AI agent pals: https://bit.ly/3FK8CZn Massive thanks to Simone Puorto, Thibault Catala, and Howard P. for generously sharing their expert take on this ongoing transformation. Their insights have us excited for what’s next in the ever-changing game of distribution and dynamic revenue management.
