  • Anastasia Volkova, PhD Volkova left Kisaco Research's Regen Ag Summit NA with a poignant lesson from leaders in CPG and agriculture — despite shifting market dynamics, building resilience across agricultural supply chains remains necessary for business success and long-term stability. Read her takeaways below, including CPGs' laser-focused approach to meeting emissions targets and the expanding margins in regenerative beef. 👇

🌱 Regenerative Agriculture: Turning Crisis into Opportunity 🌍  Last week, I had the privilege of attending Kisaco Research's Regenerative Agriculture Series event—a gathering of industry champions shaping the future of agriculture's #regenag transition. It reminded me of Albert Einstein’s timeless wisdom: “In the midst of every crisis lies great opportunity.” The Opportunity: Agriculture and climate are deeply intertwined. While conventional practices contribute to the climate crisis, regenerative agriculture offers a path toward transformation. As Kevin Burkum and @USFRA highlights, systems like U.S. agriculture have the potential to become carbon sinks—a game-changer for our planet. Per Richard Clark - it makes good $$ sense for farmers! Here are my key takeaways on where we stand with #MRV (Measurement, Reporting, and Verification) and #Scope3 emissions in agriculture:  🛠️ What’s Happening in the Industry? - CPG Leaders: Top consumer goods companies are laser-focused on achieving GHG reduction goals by working with suppliers and scaling impactful programs. If you are thinking about an #inventory or an #intervention program, if you are looking to #scale your existing #regenag program with your key #suppliers to thousands or millions of acres and not over-burden farmers - reach out! - Time for Beef: With margins improving, investments in regenerative ag and decarbonization tools are ramping up. We are partnering with industry leaders on establishing new and scaling existing rancher-forward programs. If you're navigating this space or want to collaborate, connect with Katya Rucker or partners like Nicole Buckley Biggs, PhD (AgriWebb).   - MRV Evolution: In just a few years, MRV has gone from niche to mainstream. Today, collaboration is replacing the "do-it-alone" mindset as companies seek comprehensive solutions that deliver value and reduce costs. At Regrow Ag, we’re proud to bridge #boardrooms with #supplychains through AI-powered tools like Sustainability Insights and farmer-focused #MRV systems. 🔍 Shifting Market Dynamics The release of the new SBTi Net-Zero Standard is pushing companies toward regenerative investments by aligning with supplier-specific strategies and opening the door to discussions on carbon removals. If you’re looking for practical ways to quantify reductions to build out your #scope3 plan and budget, engage suppliers effectively, check out our new tool, PlanAI—the only solution offering field-level data for annual glidepath planning. (link below) 💡 Let’s turn challenges into opportunities and build a future where agriculture regenerates the planet. Whether you’re curious about decarbonizing beef, scaling MRV systems, or leveraging AI for planning your regen ag investments — let’s chat!  📈 What's your point of view? • There’s always space to celebrate those who work for progress in Agriculture Resilience, but Women’s History Month gives us the opportunity to highlight some of  the women who use their power, passion and integrity to advocate for food system transformation. 💪 Here are just a few of the women we celebrate this month. Every month, we work to forge partnerships that will continue their legacy. Marion Verles - Marion is the CEO and co-founder of SustainCERT, a global leader in climate impact verification through digital solutions. Through her work, Marion demonstrates that uncertainty is not a reason to delay action. From her, we learn how to navigate policy, set strong standards for the industry and unlock capital for regenerative agriculture. Pilar Cruz - Pilar is EVP & Chief Sustainability Officer at Cargill. She advocates for strong, precompetitive partnerships across the supply chain in service of ag resilience. She demonstrates this advocacy in her longstanding partnership with Regrow and her commitment to industry progress.   Margaret Henry - Margaret is VP, Sustainable & Regenerative Agriculture at PepsiCo. Having grown up on a farm, Margaret has a deep understanding of the need for resilience in order to build strong food systems and supply chains for the future. In our 2025 State of Ag Resilience report, Margaret said, “Our [positive ag] plan is about the transformation of our business. It's how we’re future proofing PepsiCo.” She has continued to live these values through PepsiCo’s efforts and across the industry. (download the report here: https://lnkd.in/gWtjVJ86) Julie Kunen - As the Co-Lead of Global Sustainability at Oatly, Julie is leading the charge to source 100% of the company’s key ingredients sustainably. Julie’s definition of sustainability is holistic: “Sustainability implies a kind of, ‘put it back to the way that you found it’ ethos. And we realized that, given the degradation that has befallen the [Earth], we needed to do better than that.” Anna Pierce - As the Director of Sustainability at Tate & Lyle, Anna is pioneering sustainability projects with future scale in mind. She is committed to building pilot projects in regenerative agriculture, not just as test projects but as scalable demonstrations of system-wide change. Mary Jane Melendez - Mary Jane is the Chief Sustainability & Global Impact Officer at General Mills, a company that aims to reduce GHG emissions 60% by 2030. Mary Jane knows that the best way to do that is by employing sustainable practices across supply sheds, and she continuously advocates for that work. “We believe regenerative agriculture is the most promising solution to reach our climate goals and create positive planetary outcomes.” 🌎 🌱

  • Internal alignment on sustainability goals is a huge driver for business-wide resilience. We surveyed 21 leading companies in the ag and CPG sectors and learned that today’s most successful leaders recognize the importance of corporate climate goals, and use those goals to align departments and accelerate action. What other factors drive business resilience? Find out in our new report: https://lnkd.in/gWtjVJ86
