This week marks the close of a chapter at Pro Pipe Services, the curtain has come down on our first workshop, and we have completed the relocation to a bigger facility to accommodate for the growth of our business. Whilst a move of this size is an enormous task, the hardworking team at Pro Pipe Services has rolled up our sleeves and successfully and safely moved all our equipment, tools, parts and office equipment, even our overhead crane! We look forward to sharing some pictures when we are completely set up and excited for the next chapter at Pro Pipe Services!

I hope this message finds you well.   As you may be aware, the Victorian Government is advancing legislative changes that will have a profound impact on energy choices for all Victorians.   Sign the petition for Your Home, Your Choice campaign here: https://lnkd.in/g6jQHCta   Through the Building Legislation Amendment 2024, the government seeks the authority to ban new or extended gas connections and prohibit the installation of gas appliances across both homes and businesses. If passed, this bill will allow these measures to be implemented without further scrutiny from Parliament, limiting consumer choice. APGA fully support the government’s emission reduction goals and are committed to achieving net zero.   However, the lack of industry consultation and prescriptive nature of these changes leaves us no choice but to respond ahead of the upcoming Regulatory Impact Statement on residential gas appliances. You may well have seen media statements by APGA over the last couple of weeks as we push back against the Government’s approach.   The new Your Home, Your Choice campaign is aimed at countering the misinformation surrounding this legislation. The campaign is being run by the Master Plumbers Association of Victoria and has APGA’s support. The Victorian Government’s rationale for banning gas, citing flawed facts about emissions and energy costs, needs to be corrected with real-life data. For example, homes that rely on both gas and electricity produce 20% fewer emissions compared to fully electric homes.   A recent poll from Redbridge Group shows that 61% of Victorians are in favor of maintaining energy choice, and we need to amplify their voice.   We are asking for your support in this critical campaign. You can help by signing the petition urging the Victorian Government to reconsider this heavy-handed approach and work collaboratively with industry to find more cost-effective and practical solutions for emission reductions. This petition is not just about gas; it is about ensuring that Victorians retain the right to choose the energy sources that best suit their needs.   Every signature counts. Let’s unite as an industry to protect consumer choice and highlight the importance of a diversified energy future. APGA is proud to support the campaign.
