Enhancing poultry performance.
About us
The Poultry Research Foundation was one of the original Foundations established within the University of Sydney by the University Senate, in October 1958. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide an interface between the Australian poultry and allied industries, and the Faculty of Veterinary Science. The Foundation sponsors industry related research, assists in the training of scientific personnel and acts in an industrial liaison capacity. The Foundation's contribution to the development of the Australian poultry and stockfeeds industries has been achieved through research programs directed at achieving better understanding of the metabolism and nutritional requirements of poultry. The Foundation has regularly hosted workshops, seminars and symposia. In 1989 the annual Foundation Symposium was to become the Australian Poultry Science Symposium through a joint collaboration with the Australian Branch of the World's Poultry Science Association.

Poultry Research Foundation reposted this
Being a part of the Poultry Research Foundation team over the last year has been rewarding, inspiring and surprising! I have learnt soooo much about agriculture, food security, team work, academia and CHICKENS! I always say that doors will open and close in your career (and life) that lead to amazing places to steer you in a different direction. The constant is to stay true to yourself, build on your skills and have faith in the journey. Thankyou to my amazing team for celebrating what we have achieved together over the last year, and appreciating my admin efforts. I know that you'll miss me when there's missing deliveries or concur issues. P.S. Cage eggs all the way!

We greatly appreciate Mr Peter Bedwell from Poultry Digest featuring the student mentoring session co-sponsored by our Consortium and Poultry Hub Australia at the 35th Australian Poultry Science Symposium (#APSS2024) in the February/March issue. In the issue, 4 of our talented PhD students, Ms Francisca Diaz-Aviles from Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI) at the The University of Queensland, Mr Milan Kandel from the University of Sydney and Poultry Research Foundation, Ms Maria M. Whitton from CENTRAL QUEENSLAND UNIVERSITY, and Mr Obright Hamungalu from Massey University shared their experience and feedback attending the student mentoring session.
