Lisa highlighted the importance of fostering an environment where seafarers feel safe to speak up without fear of retribution. Tracking seafarers' mental well-being is also a priority, with tools like Big Yellow Fish helping monitor key wellness indicators. Last March, the beautiful coastal city of Split hosted the Hafnia and OSM Thome Officer Conference, bringing together Officers, office staff, and industry experts for two days of insightful discussions and collaboration. This year, the conference focused on Pool growth, Reliability and Endurance—key pillars of maritime excellence. It was great to see passionate engagement of participants on developing our own pool of officers and ensure reliability. Following the conference, there was a 3-day Oil-Chemical Workshop packed with practical and interactive sessions on Cadets’ mentoring, Scanjet, Framo, Marflex, Tripod, vegetable oil handling, tank cleaning, coating care and repair, stowage planning, cargo issues faced, and learnings led by vendors, subject matter experts from the maritime industry, as well as Hafnia senior management. These hands-on workshops were designed keeping recent and contextual issues in mind. And provided invaluable insights and skills to navigate contemporary MR and chemical tanker challenges.
