She helps prevent falls, then took a tumble herself. 😬 Lisa had only been in her new role as Falls Prevention Coordinator for 6 months when a holiday mishap landed her in a wheelchair with a broken leg and sprained foot. In the wake of Tropical Cyclone Alfred, our staff went above and beyond to care for patients and support colleagues all while showing extraordinary resilience during incredibly challenging conditions.    In recent weeks, sites across our District hosted appreciation events to acknowledge those efforts. From BBQs and morning teas, to gift hampers and well-earned moments of downtime, it’s been a chance to pause and recognise the people who keep our health system going.    Here’s a snapshot capturing the celebrations. If you have extensive, relevant legal experience in a leadership role within a large, complex organisation paired with a demonstrated ability to effectively lead and develop a diverse range of legal and non-legal staff to deliver high-quality outcomes, and a strong understanding of legal practice within the public health sector, we encourage you to apply. The location of this position is negotiable within the geographical footprint of the NNSWLHD. Our congratulations go to Donna Napier, a state-wide finalist in this year’s NSW Health Excellence in Allied Health Awards for Allied Health Professional of the Year! The awards were conferred in Sydney last night – congratulations to the winners and everyone who made it to the finals.  In our District Allied Health awards last year, Donna took home the Professional of the Year and the Educator of the Year titles – a reflection of her expertise, leadership and commitment to patient care. As Acting Sonography Section Manager at Tweed Valley Hospital, her impact extends beyond clinical practice. Through research, education, and outreach, she is driving meaningful healthcare improvements at local, national and global levels. In recent times, Donna has: ✅ expanded men’s health ultrasound services, increasing access for regional patients ✅ presented internationally on ocular ultrasound, empowering clinicians in emerging nations to detect and treat vision-threatening conditions ✅ volunteered in Alice Springs with Radiology Across Borders, training remote GPs to perform potentially life-saving ultrasounds.
