But we can still improve: - In 2022, 21 women still sadly lost their lives due to pregnancy or childbirth, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women are three-times more likely to experience pregnancy-related death (AIHW). - Each year, 660 babies die within their first month of life. That's two babies every day (AIHW). - Each year, 2000 babies are stillborn. That's six babies every day, and 20% of stillbirths are preventable (ACSQHC). Today we had the privilege of providing flu vaccinations to members and staff at the Parliament of Victoria; helping to protect our leaders this winter as they serve our community.   Pharmacists play a crucial role in delivering accessible healthcare, including vaccinations. Chemist Warehouse is thrilled to announce that the landmark merger with Sigma Healthcare is now effective, and we have new shares trading as of yesterday on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) under Sigma Limited.   This newly merged entity creates a leading Australian retail pharmacy franchisor and full-line pharmaceutical wholesaler and distributor.   Chemist Warehouse Founders, Jack Gance, Sam Gance and Mario Verrocchi were joined by Vikesh Ramsunder, Sigma CEO and Managing Director and their families yesterday to “ring the bell” and officially list the family business on the ASX.   This merger is truly transformational and the complimentary nature of our now merged businesses will allow us to accelerate our strategic direction and continue providing quality health and wellness solutions to all Australians.

Today, we are incredibly proud to celebrate Haven Moushi and Kirullus Ebrahim as they prepare to open the doors to Chemist Warehouse Lalor as Managing Partners! Haven's journey began in 2011 when she stepped into Chemist Warehouse for the first time as a first-year pharmacy student. From leading vaccination initiatives during the pandemic to receiving the Victorian Pharmacist of the Year and Mario Verrocchi Pharmacist of the Year Award, Haven has consistently demonstrated leadership and excellence. Haven grew from intern to Managing Partner at Chemist Warehouse Thomastown, each chapter strengthening her belief that “pharmacy isn’t just about dispensing medicine—it’s about connecting with people, empowering communities, and leaving a lasting impact.” For Kirullus, the dream of partnership was set early—a vision to be part of something great. After completing an internship at Chemist Warehouse Preston and managing Chemist Warehouse Epping Dalton Road for seven years, Kirullus turned his dream of managing two stores into reality, spurred by an unwavering belief that "the greater the sacrifice, the greater the reward."
