  • It’s not every day that we get to challenge both creative and societal norms, but that’s exactly what MODEL has given us the opportunity to do. MODEL is reimagining rental living by creating sustainable, intelligently-designed homes exclusively for renters. Their Build to Rent approach removes the traditional landlord structure, eliminating the uncertainty and inconsistency that has left renters disillusioned for far too long. At the same time, their innovative building approach maximises space and amenities while minimising environmental impact. From developing the MODEL name and brand strategy, to ongoing communications, we’ve had a remarkable experience articulating this ambitious vision. Now, as their groundbreaking sites begin their development journey, we can’t wait to witness the positive impact on renters, the environment, and their flourishing communities – showing the wider sector how it’s done. A huge thanks to Rory Hunter and the entire MODEL team for entrusting us with their communications and highlighting our work in their recent post. The best is yet to come!

    At MODEL, we often sing the praises of the many impressive people who’ve quite literally designed and built our vision. Today, we’d like to give a special thanks to the creative agency, Mustard | A Creative Agency, who’ve built and designed our brand and communications. We recently had a chat with Lyndon Otten, Founder and Creative Director; and Becky Mackenzie, General Manager, about Mustard’s role in MODEL’s creative direction. Lyndon Otten said, ‘It’s every designer’s dream to be involved at a project’s infancy — Rory's vision for the MODEL brand was crystal clear from the beginning, making the entire brand development process a highly collaborative and thoroughly enjoyable experience. Our approach had to reflect the attention to detail, passion and authenticity that we felt from the entire MODEL team, with every visual and verbal touchpoint providing reverence to the cause. An example of this attention to detail is evident in the MODEL logo itself, every letter within the logo mark was crafted to visually represent a brand objective. As MODEL begins its first development, we’re hugely excited to see how the brand takes form in physical spaces, and becomes a lived experience for residents and community.' Becky Mackenzie shared her thoughts: ‘At Mustard Creative, we’re particularly passionate about partnerships that drive both positive and creative impact. Together with MODEL, we’ve devised a brand strategy with the potential to redefine perceptions within the build-to-rent sector—for renters, partners and the broader industry alike.   • The final week of 2024 at Mustard was nothing short of extraordinary — a celebration of creativity, connection, and camaraderie to cap off the year! Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/giG-Ayvs We started strong with a creative hackathon, sparking bold ideas and fresh thinking, and kept the energy high with a team-wide ice cream run. It was all hands on deck for a creative Pitch Play, where brilliant concepts came to life for an imaginary product. We broke the week up with a festive-themed Cheese Club packed with games, laughter, and - naturally - competition. We visualised our goals for the year ahead and unpacked them together through a goal-setting speed dating session — because at Mustard, even personal development is a team effort. To close out the week, we came together for an end-of-year dinner, before wrapping it all up with a classic Kris Kringle, sharing the love and some thoughtful surprises. Here’s to a remarkable 2024, and a big 2025 with our amazing team and ambitious clients. Bring it on!

  • Day 4 saw our whole team come together for business updates, a leadership AMA session, and focus on the actions and behaviours we want to be taking into 2025. Equal parts inspiration, information, and some well-deserved team recognition. We then followed up our session from earlier in the week for a wild speed dating game focused on sharing our goals, and the incredible artwork we each created from Tuesday’s session. A lively day before sharing an end of year dinner together. The remarkable moments across the week are getting difficult to count!

  • Day 3 of a remarkable end to 2024 was all about creativity, collaboration, and fun. Starting with a Mustard Time to Play session, we pitched ideas for a hypothetical product brand -- sharing ideas with the whole agency. We shared insightful ideas and ridiculously on-point videos - everyone got the chance to tap into their creative genius and bring their left-of-field concepts to life. We wrapped up the day with a festive-themed Cheese Club, and some friendly team games to bring out our playful (read: competitive) side. A perfect balance of collaborative work and sharing some good times together. Here's to wrapping up another amazing week with the best team around!

  • As we continue to make a remarkable finish to 2024, we kicked off our day by bringing our creative firepower to something that’s super important to everyone at Mustard: our goals. Each year we put time and effort into crafting professional goals that are important to us individually, and will also benefit our teammates and clients. So today, we each brought them to life in pictures - be it watercolour, photography, collage art, or HB pencil on A3.   • To break out of the Christmas card craze and typical end of year messages of thanks, we decided to do something different for our clients this year: for our whole team to come together for our inaugural client-focused Hackathon. Each team went away to design, build, and deliver a remarkable solution to end the year. We created MVP video games, multimedia videos, and even recreated some of our favourite production moments from 2024. What a way to kick-off a purposeful final week✨

  • Go Beyond Yourself: A Brand Film with Fernwood Fitness At Mustard, we believe in the power of stories that resonate. That's why we were thrilled to collaborate with Fernwood Fitness on their latest brand campaign, Go Beyond. Yourself. This project was a creative journey that not only pushed boundaries but also deeply reflected the pressures women face daily—whether it's the monotony of traffic, the stress of a demanding job, or the emotional weight of family responsibilities. 💭 The Concept Go Beyond. Yourself. is about breaking free from the roles society expects women to play and embracing something deeper. It’s about going beyond monotony, beyond expectations, beyond being "gentle." It’s about reclaiming space for yourself—physically and mentally. We wanted to capture that powerful moment when a woman steps into a Fernwood gym and leaves the chaos of everyday life behind. The film juxtaposes everyday stresses with the empowering release of being in a Fernwood gym: finding zen in a yoga class or pure focus while lifting weights. 💪 The Power of Escape The contrast of these two worlds is striking, yet so real. The gym becomes more than a place for fitness—it’s a sanctuary for mental health, release, and personal connection. 🎭 Our Team’s Creative Vision We loved bringing this vision to life. From concept to execution, our team and partners created a piece that spoke to women on a real, personal level. The result?
