Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is returning to the Asia Cross Country Rally in 2025 with its Team Mitsubishi Ralliart-engineered and developed Triton AXCR! After taking outright victory in 2022 and backing this up with strong performances in succeeding years, the Ralliart team once more takes to the stages in August this year. Spanning 2500km and taking in forest lanes and mountain roads dotted with water splashes, the AXCR is a tough test for any vehicle, and the updated-for-2025 Triton is up for the adventure. Two-time Dakar winner and now Team Director of Team Mitsubishi Ralliart, Hiroshi Masuoka, said: "Last year, the Triton with significantly enhanced driving performance was able to hold its own against rivals with high displacement and took a large lead in first place overall on the first day of the second half. "Unfortunately, it ran into trouble and ended up sidelined from the competition, but we affirmed that the Triton has more than enough potential to win the overall championship. "This year, with an even more rigorous rally in terms of both days and distance for the 30th anniversary competition, we have a vehicle with enhanced durability that can harness its fantastic potential throughout the rally as we aim for our first overall win in three years." The 2025 Triton AXCR was unveiled at last week's Bangkok International Motor Show. #ralliart #mitsubishimotors

Mitsubishi Motors Australia launches Federal Election Charter 2025! Australia, like the rest of the world, is navigating a complex and multi-faceted energy transition. 🌍 ⚡ ⛽ Achieving successful outcomes will require thoughtful planning and balanced progress. We committed to being a responsible corporate citizen and a key contributor to Australia’s economy throughout this transition. In recognition of the importance of immediate climate action, we have embedded sustainability as one of our core strategic pillars — because we intend to be here for the long term. We believe in leveraging technological solutions to combat climate change and are deeply invested in developing innovative approaches to reduce vehicle emissions. 🚗 We are also committed to ensuring that middle Australia — our core market — is not left behind during the energy transition, particularly in rural and regional areas. This is why we have launched our non-partisan Election Charter, which was featured in The Australian yesterday, which outlines six policy considerations, including recommendations. We believe that implementing these will help Australia achieve our climate goals, through a balanced and inclusive approach to meet the diverse needs of our country’s regions and industries. Mitsubishi Motors Australia is committed to engaging with all political parties ahead of the 2025 election to discuss the priorities outlined in this charter. We believe that collaboration is key to achieving a cleaner, safer, and more prosperous future. Together, we can drive meaningful progress for our industry, communities, and shared environment, ensuring a practical and economically sustainable path toward the future. Mitsubishi Motors Australia's Federal Election Charter 2025 featured in The Australian This morning’s The Australian section on ‘Future of Automotive’ (page 17) features an Op-Ed by our CEO, Shaun Westcott, as well as extracts from our upcoming ‘Federal Election Charter 2025: A Vision for Sustainable Innovation’. Shaun notes that comparisons are often drawn between Australia and Norway, with Norway frequently cited as a best practice model for EV adoption. In Norway, EVs account for more than 27% of all passenger cars and 89% of new vehicle sales. In contrast, EVs make up about 1% of all vehicles in Australia and 8.5% of new vehicle sales. 🚗 It is essential to consider the geographical and demographic differences between the two countries. Australia is the world’s largest island, the sixth-largest landmass, and the only country to occupy an entire continent. Our landscape is vast, and our population is highly dispersed. 🌏 Australia is approximately 24 times larger than Norway in terms of land area. Additionally, Australia’s population of around 26 million is nearly five times that of Norway’s 5.5 million. Australians have access to approximately 7,000 petrol stations, while Norwegians are served by around 1,800 petrol stations. Assuming an average of six pumps per station, this equates to one petrol pump for every 619 people in Australia compared to 509 people in Norway—relatively comparable. ⛽ A similar comparison for EV charging infrastructure reveals stark differences. The Electric Vehicle Council reports that Australia has 1,849 high-power public EV chargers spread across 1,059 sites nationwide, equating to one EV charger per 14,062 people. In contrast, Norway boasts around 22,000 EV chargers, or approximately one charger per 250 people. ⚡ These infrastructure disparities are reflected in public sentiment. According to an independent survey in Australia: ◼️ only 15% agree with the statement, “It’s easy to find a place to plug in and recharge my vehicle” ◼️ just 12% agree that “the reliability of public charging points is satisfactory” That's why Mitsubishi Motors Australia is advocating Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) as a pragmatic and sustainable transport solution on the road to Net Zero. Mitsubishi’s Outlander PHEV features a battery with an 84 km range—more than sufficient for daily EV driving (the average commute in Australia is 35 km). This vehicle also utilises an engine to generate electricity for long-distance trips, making it less dependent on EV charging infrastructure. As Australia approaches the 2025 Federal Election, we reaffirm our commitment as a constructive and forward-looking leader in the nation’s automotive sector and the broader economy. We look forward to sharing our Election Charter, which features six policy recommendations, in full tomorrow. You can access Shaun's article in full here: https://lnkd.in/gZbgpfve

🌟Mitsubishi Motors Australia Celebrates International Women’s Day🌟 Earlier today, 20 of our team members attended an International Women’s Day lunch, organised by the South Australian Business Chamber and the Australia Day Council of South Australia. Our very own Carla Kruger, Director of People & Culture, shared her experiences as a female leader in the traditionally male-dominated automotive industry. She spoke about balancing meritocracy, diversity, and inclusivity in the workplace, as well as the initiatives she has implemented to enable women to “Drive Forward” at Mitsubishi Motors Australia. The event also featured a keynote address from Professor Professor Leah Bromfield, the South Australian of the Year, who has dedicated her career to developing practical, evidence-based solutions to combat child abuse and neglect. Attendees also heard from other inspiring speakers, including Amber Brock-Fabel, Sobia Irfan Hashmi, Laura Schonfeldt, and Verity Gobbett. We celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women who continue to shape industries, drive innovation, and inspire change. As we ‘March Forward’ together, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering an inclusive and empowering future - one where every woman has the opportunity to lead, succeed, and thrive. Mitsubishi Motors Australia wishes you an inspiring and empowering International Women’s Day tomorrow! The updated Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Outlander was revealed to North American media last week, and the reviews have been incredibly positive. With refreshed exterior and interior design and the debut of a new audio arrangement with legendary Japanese company Yamaha Corporation, the new Outlander has been lauded for its sophistication. That also applies to its ride and handling, with American journalists (including those from 'The Drive') referencing Australia's market input in developing the improvements. We're looking forward to revealing the local lineup before the new Outlander range arrives in Australia later this year. https://lnkd.in/gsfKvSCD

Last week, Yoshiaki Kato, Mitsubishi Motors Australia's Chief Business & Governance Officer, was invited by the Consul-General of Japan in Melbourne, Furuya Tokuro, to attend the 65th birthday celebrations of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. As a Japanese company in Australia, we believe it is important to contribute to the cultural and diplomatic relations between Australia and Japan. We have been deeply rooted in the Australian landscape for 44 years, witnessing and participating in the growth of this diverse and vibrant nation, and we remain committed to supporting its continued success. Mitsubishi Motors Australia proudly displayed the Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). Yoshiaki Kato and Fulvio Fattore, Deputy Director Fleet & Mobility, had an opportunity to discuss bi-directional charging technology with Victoria’s Minister for Finance, Economic Growth and Jobs, Danny Pearson. Vehicles with bi-directional charging technology can support a two-way flow of energy between their batteries and an external power source or load. They also function as backup energy sources capable of powering your home - or even selling energy back to the grid. The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) recently released a National Roadmap for Bidirectional EV Charging, stating: “Many stakeholders consider uptake rates for bidirectional EV charging could be comparable to those achieved for rooftop solar in Australia, achieving 2.6 million residential V2G installations by 2040.” The exciting news is that bi-directional technology is already a reality in South Australia, with a nationwide rollout expected by mid-year. You can find out more about bi-directional technology and how the Outlander PHEV can power your home here: https://lnkd.in/gVik9zvy Thank you to Furuya-san for the invitation and the opportunity to discuss how bi-directional charging could transform the future of energy in Australia!
