From the deepest oceans 🦈 to the wildest savannahs🐆 Today, MicroTau announces the latest innovation in biomimetic functional surfaces by moving beyond shark skin to land-based predatory animals. Meet Panthera, our leopard-derived microstructured coating for aircraft.   Offering meteoric speeds of up to 31 knots and the ability of the aircraft to operate on a sustainable diet consisting mainly of ungulates and small primates, the coating also enables the aircraft to stalk its prey while safely camouflaged in dense vegetation.  We expect high demand so get your pre-orders in fast!

Happy International Women's Day! From interns to engineers to leadership, the contributions of women at MicroTau are essential to the success of our mission. As such, we thought we'd take the opportunity to highlight three women driving extensive impact at MicroTau: Rebecca Lodin, Head of Engineering. Rebecca leads our product development and manufacturing efforts, setting our engineering roadmap and ensuring the team is empowered to execute on it. Rebecca's contributions to the rigour and capabilities of the Engineering Team at MicroTau genuinely cannot be overstated. Claudia Kaplan, Product Engineering Associate (Layout & Installation). Claudia's primary focus is the design of film layouts for various aircraft through simulations and modelling with an eye toward balancing performance output and practicality. One of Claudia's latest wins was designing the film layout for USAF flight testing and subsequently managing its installation - stupendously cool stuff. She's since undertaken a secondment within MicroTau to develop her knowledge of novel riblet designs. Petra Schulzer, Manufacturing Systems Associate. Petra designs and builds our manufacturing systems, including work on scaling up our in-house production capabilities by developing a prototype scale manufacturing process. This prototype will be the foundation for our large-scale production equipment, ultimately unlocking the ability for MicroTau to drive serious change in aviation decarbonisation. We welcome this year's MarchForward theme - a call to action for organisations to unlock equal rights, power, and opportunities for all. It highlights the importance of increasing the number of women in leadership roles and empowering the next generation as catalysts for lasting change.
