We were proud to attend the Sydney Education Expo, where we had the opportunity to connect with educators, families and community members passionate about creating brighter futures for young people. Throughout the day, we had thoughtful and meaningful conversations about the importance of foster care, the role of trauma-informed support, and how we can work together to build stronger, more inclusive communities. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more about our work and how we support children, young people and carers. Events like these remind us that change starts with conversation — and we’re so grateful to be part of that journey. #MacKillopFamilyServices #SydneyEducationExpo #FosterCare

We were very pleased to sponsor this year’s Bendigo Pride Festival, and to attend the festival’s Pride in the Park event in late March. Our need for foster carers from this generous community remains high. Thanks to the festival team for hosting a great event, and to Frock Hudson for adding to the fun!

After nine years of fierce advocacy for children and young people, Liana Buchanan concluded her role as Principal Commissioner for Children and Young People last week. Her leadership has driven significant positive change, strengthening child safety, amplifying young voices, and holding systems accountable, contributing to enhanced outcomes for children and young people. As she moves into her new role as Deputy Commissioner at IBAC, leading police oversight, we thank Liana for her unwavering commitment to children’s rights and wellbeing. Her impact will be felt for years to come. We also farewell Maree Walk, as she retires as the CEO of ACWA. Maree has been instrumental in bringing together agencies to respond to and support the NSW Government’s system review into out-of-home-care. Thank you, Maree for your leadership, advocacy and determination.
