💜 Our #MarchForward for all women and girls is a 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. The reality is that women are severely under-represented in Australia's technology sector, accounting for just over 𝟮𝟭% 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗖𝗧 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀. As women move the needle towards equal representation, #Allies are a vital part of challenging the status quo and accelerating progress towards #GenderEquality. So while #InternationalWomensDay is about celebrating trailblazing women and girls, today we implore every ally to reflect on how they can: 💜 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲: understand the state-of-play and be informed about the work that needs to be done. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gimfhFj8 💜 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗶𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀: speak up if you notice a women being interrupted or presenting an idea that gets overlooked (and later repeated). 💜 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲: recommend qualified women for panels and conferences, and invite women colleagues to take the lead in meetings. 💜 𝗚𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: consider sponsoring women for high-visibility projects or leadership roles, and publicly crediting their contributions. 💜 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀: challenge bias in hiring or leave policies and ask for salary transparency to close gender pay gaps. 💜 𝗗𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘂𝗽, 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲: be present and listen, but also look to actively get involved in allyship training and organisations like our partners Women in Technology WA Inc. (WiTWA) and Women 4 STEM. Big shifts can start with small changes, so let's hear from some allies: 💬 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆?
