The Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care is developing a blueprint for a new data analytics platform to track and manage diseases. The department is putting together an architectural strategy and design for what's known as the National Public Health Surveillance System. The system comes in response to findings from the Covid-19 response inquiry and follows a government pledge to build Australia's own Centre for Disease Control. Last week saw Australian Red Cross say farewell to its CIO of four years Brett Wilson. Wilson was instrumental in creating the NFP's "first IT strategy to support transformation", implementing its "digital spine" and positioning it to "simplify, adopt, and embed" technology. The Clean Energy Regulator has shed some light on its multi-year transformation program.
