Like test automation, evals are a critical part of building on and around generative AI. The team at LangChain have released a few starter packs that might give you a leg up. We are going to give some of these a go ourselves, stay tuned for our learnings.

This morning, we posted about the release of Claude 3.7 and Claude Code. Claude Code is a command line (terminal) coding assistant which uses the Claude API to give you an agentic coding assistant. Here at intalgo.ai, we do a heap of coding, experimenting and trying different models and tech as it comes out. We are here to tell you, Claude 3.7 is a significant step up. If you have used AI for a while to assist with coding, especially when Cursor and Windsurf came out with their agentic capability, you will know it wasn't perfect. In fact sometimes its like herding kittens, keeping the AI on track and not going off randomly to refactor unrelated code. First impressions are, Claude 3.7 is far more stable and its multi step reasoning feels far more accurate and focused. Cursor have already integrated it with their IDE and we are sure Windsurf wont be far behind. For those of you who use AI to augment your development efforts, you should be excited! Claude has been recognised as the best code interpreter since 3.5-sonnet came out and it is the backbone of the now very successful Cursor and Windsurf IDEs. If 3.7 is anything close to what they are saying capability wise, coding with AI is about to make a massive step change. If you do a search, on just about any platform at present about AI, the first 1 or 2 recommendations will be around AI agents. Like all (new) tech (the hammer), if you let it, will seemingly be all nails. What AI agents are and what they are used for, is largely misunderstood. A lot of what we see is the use of AI in automation and/or building of AI Systems.
