When you think of an inventor, do you think of a woman? Medical syringes have been around for a long time, but the design of modern syringes has been heavily inspired by Letitia Geer’s invention of the one-hand syringe. Despite the influence her work has on modern-day syringes, her story is often left out in history. As flu vaccines become available across Australia, let's take a moment to appreciate the ease and accessibility of vaccinations today, made possible by Letitia's innovation. #GenderEquity #WomenInSTEM #Innovation

  • It can be challenging for new residents to move into an aged care home with all the change it brings. Which is why Eldercare’s transition support volunteers are crucial in helping new residents feel at home from day one. Watch Transition Support Volunteer Caitlin as she explains how building relationships built on trust and respect allows new residents to make the shift discuss the things that are important to them, and safely express any concerns in the first weeks in care. #Eldercare #AgedCare #VolunteerStories

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible team and leadership at Eldercare Cottage Grove for their amazing support and shared belief in our vision! 💙 We’re thrilled to announce that CareWindow is now live in Cottage Grove, making communication between residents and their families much more accessible. 💬 A special mention goes to Joyce Bailey, a resident of Eldercare Cottage Grove and a true pioneer of CareWindow. Joyce, who is the grandmother of CareWindow's founder Zac, and the mother of Martin who was the inspiration for the invention, uses her CareWindow daily and her experiences have been incredibly valuable in demonstrating the benefit of this life-changing communication technology. 💖 We’re excited about the positive impact this will have on residents, their families, and caregivers. Together, we’re bridging distances and bringing loved ones closer. 🌏 #agedcare #technology #innovation

  • Last month, Eldercare The Lodge hosted its annual event, 'Christmas in the Garden'. 🎄 The celebration began with a warm welcome from Eldercare Chief Executive Jane Pickering, and Site Operations Manager Alysha Rhodes. To set the mood, Sam Greer, also known as 'Cello by the Sea,' played beautiful music as guests arrived. Our residents were captivated by her modern cello, stunning outfit, and amazing talent. Guests also enjoyed performances by Pacemaker’s Quartet and The Three Little Sisters, which were a big hit. It was an unforgettable evening for residents, families, and staff members.
