This year's symposium theme is ‘Effectiveness Matters’, analysing the need to refocus impact assessment to achieve better outcomes. The event will be a crucial conversation about measuring success, not by how quickly or cheaply we complete assessments, but by the environmental and social outcomes we deliver. Abstracts are invited on the following sub-themes: • Developing IA intended outcomes • Barriers to outcomes-based approaches • Ensuring integrated assessment • Impact Assessment follow up • Role of strategic environmental assessment and regional planning.
