A Deadly Choice is a Healthy Choice!
About us
Deadly Choices is an initiative of the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH). Deadly Choices aims to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to make healthy choices for themselves and their families – to stop smoking, to eat good food and exercise daily. Deadly Choices also encourages our people to access their local Community-Controlled Health Service and complete an annual ‘Health Check’. Governments have committed to ‘Closing the Gap’ in Indigenous Health but only our communities can make this happen.

Our Baidam Pty Ltd x Deadly Choices Golf Day has been postponed due to the recent weather in Brisbane. We are grateful for the ongoing support from Baidam and all those who have registered for the day. Watch this space for the new date announcement!
It's with a heavy heart that we've had to postpone the Baidam x Deadly Choices Golf Day. Nudgee Golf Course is still firmly under water, and will need some time to repair and recover. We will be back however! Once our team and vendors are fully back online, and the community has had a little time to recover, we'll share a new date for this great event. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, we do appreciate the support. 💙 💚

Another magical experience for one of our clients who had his 715 health check: Robert and his grandson Ethan were guests at the NRL's Indigenous vs Maori All Stars match in Sydney. Along with other luck winners from other ACCHOs, they were shown around by Deadly Choices Ambassadors, got to walk on the hallowed turf before the game, and watched an amazing game celebrating culture and rugby league. #gottobeinittowinit #aboriginalhealth #firstnationsculture

The new new suite of health check shirts feature more than 20 sporting partners across NRL, AFL, rugby union, netball, Tennis Australia, the Boomers and Professional Bull Riders.
