“The training is wonderful, I enjoy it. It has boosted the confidence I have with my language skills when talking to people and I enjoy spending time with my clients, especially those who are on their own.” Renalyn and Stacey are two of seven trainees that are currently undertaking the Certificate III in Individual Support whilst they receive on-the-job training in providing support services to Calvary Home Care clients. This traineeship helps us to create more career pathways for support care workers, whilst ensuring that clients have access to local qualified care. Calvary Central Districts Hospital's Breast and Endocrine Centre has a new home, and can now be found on the ground floor of the Playford Health Hub. Whilst remaining close to the hospital for any surgical and post-operative needs, the centre can now be found in the same building as the hospital's specialised oncology day unit - the Calvary Connery Centre - and under the same roof as service partners GenesisCare, Adelaide Oncology and Haematology, RadiologySA and Clinpath Pathology. For patients, it means that time spent travelling to appointments is significantly reduced and access to all services is much easier. Well done to all involved! #calvarycentraldistricts #calvaryconnerycentre #playfordhealthhub #breastcancersupport

“Our main objective through home care is to improve health outcomes, and something simple like having a local equipment pool adds great value to the service we provide.” Wait times for deliveries in regional areas can sometimes be lengthy, but Calvary Flinders Far North Home Care Service Centre has created an equipment pool in the Whyalla satellite office to speed up client access to small equipment aids. Service Centre Manager Fiona said case managers can instantly access equipment enabling cooking and self-grooming to help maintain independence and improve safety in the home. “After an occupational therapy assessment, our case manager can access these items instantly for a client, take it to them and educate them on how to use them so that independent living is easier.” #calvaryhomecare #homecareservices #occupationaltherapy #OT
