Celebrating Growth and New Beginnings in Sri Lanka As Sri Lanka celebrates the Sinhala and Tamil New Year this week, we are proud to acknowledge the incredible progress and contribution of our Sri Lanka operations team. Since beginning recruitment in October 2023, the team has grown rapidly, quickly outgrowing our original 23-seat office. In September 2024, we secured a new office space and undertook a three-month fit-out before officially moving into the purpose-built premises on 6 January 2025. Today, we have a talented team of 40, with plans to expand to 60 in the coming months. We are proud of the culture, capability and collaboration that this team brings to the wider Autoleague group, and we look forward to supporting continued growth and opportunity in the region. Executive Spotlight: Carlos Da Costa – Head of Corporate Business Carlos joined Autoleague in 2017 as Group General Manager of Operations – Sales and stepped into the role of Head of Corporate Business in 2022. In his role, Carlos manages our VIP clients, structures corporate deals, strengthens key relationships, and supports managers across the group. His leadership and commitment continue to drive growth and deliver exceptional value to our corporate partners. “This journey has been incredible. I’m proud to be part of a company that keeps growing and innovating.” Carlos thrives on working with passionate, driven people who challenge each other to improve every day. “Autoleague has made me a better operator. Watching others grow and succeed gives me real satisfaction. I’m lucky to work with such an incredible team—Caitlin, our fleet managers, GMs, EGMs, DPs, and dealer support teams, who make my job easier every day.” Currently, Carlos focuses on expanding corporate partnerships and finding new ways to enhance value for our clients. And as we’re in the car business… we had to ask bout his cars - First Car: Nissan Micra - “Not the flashiest, but it did the job!” - Dream Car: A red Ferrari - “There’s just something about the power, style, and legacy that makes it the ultimate dream machine.” And for those in the know… yes, Carlos was also crowned champion at last year’s Autoleague Championship; our annual, flagship event that celebrates the dedication, achievements and excellences that power our continued success. This week, we’re celebrating National Apprenticeship Week Australia. We’re proud to highlight the invaluable role apprentices play in our business. At Autoleague, we currently have 114 apprentices who are key members of our teams, helping to shape the future of the automotive industry. Jessica Schmidt is a second-year apprentice at Melville Hyundai, completing her Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology training, and shares her thoughts on doing her apprenticeship with Autoleague: "I decided to do my training with Melville Hyundai because I’d heard great things about the brand, and everyone at the dealership was really welcoming. Since starting, I’ve learned many different ways to approach tasks, which has been really beneficial. The mix of hands-on work and classroom learning helps me understand things on a deeper level. The best part of my apprenticeship is the incredible support from everyone, including the foreman and master technicians, who are great teachers.” Jessica’s manager, Matthew Hendry, Service Manager at Melville Hyundai, tells us about the crucial role apprentices play: "Apprentices are vital to our business; training the next generation of technicians is so important to the industry. Jess has been great since day one. She has a positive attitude, takes pride in her work, and learns quickly. Through our partnership with Carbonhalo, Autoleague has offset 1,164 tonnes of CO2 emissions in the past 6 months! 🌍💚 To put that into perspective, that’s the equivalent of 2,435 flights from Perth to Melbourne! ✈️🌏 We’ve directed our contributions towards supporting important Australian environmental projects, including the Native Forest Regeneration initiative in the Paroo region, southwest Queensland. Covering over 19,000 hectares, this project focuses on restoring native forests to land that was once cleared, helping to regenerate vital ecosystems and fight climate change. 🌳 By partnering with Carbon Halo, we’re not just reducing our carbon footprint. We’re actively working towards a more sustainable future for everyone.
