A unique connection between two national institutions Today Matt Anderson Director of the Australian War Memorial visited our museum to connect with this iconic WWII vessel, known for its role in Operation Jaywick. The MV Krait, a vessel of immense historical significance was the centrepiece of the visit. While proudly displayed at the Australian National Maritime Museum, the Krait belongs to the Australian War Memorial. The museum team including volunteer Steve Mountain and Curator of Navy Stirling Smith shared the vessel's remarkable story and the communities it touched with Mr. Anderson and ANMM CEO Daryl Karp. A powerful reminder of Australia's wartime history. https://lnkd.in/gUR--FBp Australian War Memorial Daryl Karp AM #ZSpecialUnit #NavalHistory #MuseumVisit #AustralianWarMemorial #HistoricalNarratives #MuseumPartnerships
