We heard from Dr Dinusha Weerawardane (PhD, FCCA, NTF, PFHEA) from ACCA, Elizabeth Wooliscroft, Dom Horne from Robert Walters and Veronica Beilby FCA, Assoc CIPD from the Advisory Board Centre.
The day began with Mandipa Soni who discussed the topic 'Global Taxation: Navigating Tax Challenges in 2025'. With over 13 years of experience in corporate and international tax, Mandipa delivered an insightful, engaging view on current trepidations of tax.
Leading futurist Andrew Grill discussed 'The Workplace of the Future Under AI - What Does the World Look like Under Generative AI?' He outlined the need to be curious about technology, whilst showcasing impressive use-cases of AI tools. His book 'Digitally Curious' sold out on the day!
Post lunch, CA ANZ Board Chair, Non-Executive Director John Palermo lead the Heads and Tails tradition.
Founder and Host of the 'Race Forward' Podcast, Lydiah Igweh spoke eloquently on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. The audience was moved and awakened by her description of belonging, and what it is to be truly one's unapologetic self. We loved dancing alongside you Lydiah!
Longstanding presenter Ross Walker spoke on the '2025 UK Economic Outlook - the 'Prospect for Economic Growth, Inflation, the Labour Market and Interest Rates.' It was fantastic to see the warmth that resonated from the crowd towards Ross Walker's return.
Keynote Speaker Professor Suzie Imber provided an incredible presentation on her experiences with the UK Space Agency, NASA, Qineteq and Virgin Galactic. She has travelled to a number of the most inhospitable places on the planet, and her adventures truly wowed the room!
