Empowering Health & Prevention: Health Day at ZKW Slovakia On March 27, our plant in Krušovce hosted Health Day, a tradition that we have proudly upheld for several years. This year, however, was special – in addition to activities for our employees, we also organized a professional discussion on "Prevention and Employee Health Promotion." 🔹 Caring for Our Employees' Health In cooperation with the health insurance company DÔVERA zdravotná poisťovňa, a. s. , we provided our employees with free medical check-ups, expert consultations, and relaxing massages. Interestingly, this time more men took advantage of the health screenings than women, which is quite unusual in preventive healthcare. Once again, we confirmed the importance of such initiatives. 🔹 Professional Discussion with Key Guests We also hosted a professional discussion attended by the Mayor of Topoľčany, local doctors, representatives from the Social Insurance Agency, health insurance companies, and representatives from the ALW medical service. In addition to the discussion, our guests had the opportunity to tour our production facilities, leaving a strong impression—many of them were visiting an industrial plant for the first time and were surprised by the scale of our operations. We believe this meeting will serve as a great starting point for further collaboration in health and prevention. At ZKW, we are committed to supporting health and prevention, and we will continue to organize initiatives like this in the future. March focused on universities! After a successful participation at STU MTF in Trnava, exactly one week later, on Tuesday 11 March 2025, we went to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at STU in Bratislava. The students didn't miss the Opportunity Days this year either, and their questions about innovation 💡, development and collaboration opportunities reassured us that the future of technology is in good hands! The highlight? An amazing light from our workshop! Our presentation featured an exclusive Cupra Terramar light that became a real eye-catcher. 🚘 We showed that at ZKW we don't just manufacture - we develop top lighting solutions for premium automotive brands! Who represented us? At our ZKW booth, students were welcomed by Kristína Krátka from HR and colleagues - experts in development, process engineering and quality. In Trnava we were represented by Martin Černák and Jozef Priecel, and in Bratislava by Peter Bisák and Peter Murárik. Why universities? It's not just about presenting ZKW Slovakia as one of the largest suppliers to the automotive industry - in fact, we rank among the top 10 employers in the automotive sector in Slovakia. On March 11, 2025, an inspiring meeting on the Corporate Sustainability Directive (CSRD) 🌱 took place at ZKW. Representatives from leading companies such as Fronius, Erema, and Salinen Austria came together to exchange ideas on current challenges and best practices in sustainability. In an open and constructive atmosphere, various aspects of the CSRD directive 📑 were discussed, including the importance of transparent reporting, the integration of sustainability goals into corporate strategy, and the challenges of data collection. A particular highlight ✨ was the subsequent tour of ZKW Lichtsysteme GmbH’s state-of-the-art production facilities. Participants were impressed by the innovative technologies and the company’s commitment to sustainable production processes. On February 19 and 20, 2025, ZKW attended the DVN Lighting Workshop at Motorworld Munich – one of the most important events for the international automotive lighting industry. With its unique flair, Motorworld Munich provided the ideal setting for innovation and networking. 🤩 Our CTO Udo Hornfeck presented ZKW in a brief pitch. In addition, Gerald Böhm gave a lecture on the topic of “Sustainable, innovative, recyclable material composites for future car headlamps”, in which he presented sustainable material solutions for the headlamps of tomorrow.♻️🌱 With over 500 industry experts in attendance, the workshop was a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas with international partners and discuss the latest developments and trends in automotive lighting. Sustainability in production: Refurbished PCs in use Sustainability is not just a buzzword for us, but a way of life. An important step: the use of refurbished PCs in production. Instead of using only new hardware, we give refurbished devices a second chance – this saves costs and conserves valuable resources. 📉 Up to 85% less CO₂ emissions & water consumption ♻ Approx. 90% less electronic waste 🌍 8.5 tons of CO₂ saved – the equivalent of driving 62,000 km in a diesel car What's particularly impressive is that our apprentices play a crucial role in this process. They install and replace the devices, thus promoting cross-departmental knowledge transfer and team spirit. A real added value for the environment and the company.

🌍 Sustainable Headlight Development at ZKW 🚗💡 Exciting visit at ZKW! 🎓 Students from the StREaM – Sustainable Resources, Engineering and Management program at Magdeburg University joined us in Wieselburg. As part of the course "Innovative Headlight Development: Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Techniques", they explored sustainable design strategies for automotive lighting. Through lifecycle analyses, CO₂ calculations, and creative solutions for materials, production, and recycling, the students delivered impressive results, which they presented in groups. 👏 The presentations were evaluated by a distinguished panel, including Prof. Dr.-Ing. Benedikt Lamontain and Prof. Dr. Gilian Gerke from Hochschule Magdeburg, alongside Dr. Baran Sarac (Research Manager) and Michael Muttenthaler (LCA Engineer) from ZKW Group GmbH. Their visit was made possible with the invaluable support of Helene Fürst, Kosmas Kyriakos, Georg Pitterle, Christoph Pokorny, and other dedicated members of the ZKW team. End of January, we had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Dr. Günther Poszvek and Dr. Osman Bodur from the Vienna University of Technology to our company at ZKW in Wieselburg.
