Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Vice Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), proudly welcomed the launch of the first UAE-Morocco Business Council hosted in Sharjah. The meeting was attended by Ahmed Al Tazi, Ambassador of Morocco to the UAE, Chakib Alj, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), representatives from the UAE Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Economy, and council members from both nations. Al Owais remarked that holding the Council’s first session in Sharjah marks a new milestone in the robust and growing relationship between the UAE and Morocco. It was a real pleasure to take part, yesterday in #Sharjah, in the kick-off meeting of the Morocco 🇲🇦 - UAE 🇦🇪 Business Council. Morocco and the UAE share a deep-rooted friendship and robust economic relations. Yet, there is still immense untapped potential to further deepen and diversify our collaboration and this is precisely the mission of this Business Council. Launched through a joint initiative by CGEM and the UAE Chambers (Federation of UAE Chambers and Industry), the Council is a strategic driver of investment and partnership opportunities across vital sectors, especially in the remarkable economic transformation of Morocco, under the leadership of his Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist him. We are proud to have Mr. Anas Guennoun, President of the Council on the Moroccan side, and His Excellency Mr. Abdalla Sultan Al Owais, his counterpart from the UAE. Their #leadership, vision, and experience will be instrumental in steering this Council toward tangible and impactful results. We’re also encouraged by the growing presence of Moroccan companies in the UAE, and the many Emirati investments in Morocco — a testament to the vitality and mutual trust that underpin our economic ties. On 9 April, a meeting of the bilateral Lithuanian-UAE Business Council and a business forum were held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Forum presented the opportunities to discover the economic potential of Lithuania and the UAE for businesses from both countries, and strengthen cooperation between business associations. In his presentation on the development of bilateral economic relations in recent years and Lithuania's export potential, Ambassador of Lithuania to the UAE Ramūnas Davidonis said that trade relations between the two countries have been steadily increasing each year. This trend creates new opportunities for the growth of bilateral trade and stronger business ties between Lithuania and the UAE. Ambassador R. Davidonis and the Interim President of the Lithuanian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, Sigitas Gailiūnas, had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Vice-President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the UAE and President of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Further activities of the Lithuanian-UAE Business Council, strengthening connections between businesses of both countries were discussed during this meeting. Lithuanian association extended a warm invitation to the leadership of the Sharjah Chamber to visit Lithuania with a trade mission. During the bilateral business forum, Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts and the Šiauliai Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts signed bilateral cooperation agreements with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. These agreements are expected to open up new opportunities for closer economic cooperation and business ties between the countries and their respective regions. The Business Forum was attended by around 100 representatives of businesses and associations from Lithuania and the UAE. The Lithuanian-UAE Business Council was established on 4 May 2023 between the Association of Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the UAE. The aim of the Business Council is to provide a direct link between business associations, to jointly explore business development opportunities and to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.
