Emirates Global Aluminium is the world’s largest ‘premium aluminium’ producer and the biggest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside oil and gas. Together, we innovate aluminium to make modern life possible. We operate aluminium smelters in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, an alumina refinery in Abu Dhabi, and a bauxite mine and associated export facilities in the Republic of Guinea. Aluminium is among the world’s most versatile metals, and our global customers transform it into products that make modern life possible – from smartphones and building materials to food packaging and car parts. Our aluminium is the biggest made-in-the-UAE export after oil and gas, bringing in billions of dollars of export revenue each year contributing to the diversification of the national economy. Four per cent of the world’s aluminium production or almost half of the aluminium produced in the Gulf Cooperation Council, is made by us. That means approximately one in every 25 tonnes of aluminium is UAE-made.

EGA today announced strong financial results for 2024, with higher realised all-in aluminium and bauxite prices and record production of alumina and aluminium, partly offset by higher alumina prices and lower bauxite production. During 2024, we significantly advanced our strategy to grow in low carbon aluminium, both laying the foundations for low carbon primary expansion and taking material steps in the development of a global recycling business. EGA partnered with the UAE University’s College of Engineering to inspire young women studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics to pursue careers in heavy industry. #HeavyLifters from EGA’s Break the Mould initiative met with students sharing their fulfilling journeys working in industry, while our Talent Acquisition Team provided career guidance and job interviews onsite. EGA signed a partnership agreement with the Dubai Future Foundation to progress manufacturing technologies through research and knowledge exchange. The agreement was signed by His Excellency Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of DFF, and Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, CEO of EGA.
